STATEMENT ON ISO CERTIFICATION
The Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica (CCCJ) is committed to satisfying its customers’ needs by offering quality service, both internally and externally. Its customers are member institutions, students of these institutions and other stakeholders and partners. To demonstrate its commitment, the CCCJ Secretariat embarked on the ISO journey and on 2021 August 24 received ISO 9001:2015 certification.
What is ISO 9001:2015?
This is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system. It focuses on seven main principles; engagement of people, customer focus, leadership, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision-making and relationship management.
Quality Policy Statement
The CCCJ aims to provide certification to individuals who demonstrate the requisite skills and knowledge in their area of study thus making them employable and qualified to meaningfully contribute to their country’s development.
With strong and committed leadership, the CCCJ will continually improve its services through increased visibility, innovation and expansion globally, by benchmarking against international standards for acceptance and accountability, in order to meet and exceed requirements of customers, internal and relevant external stakeholders, in accordance with applicable legal and compliance obligations, policies and procedures.
Scope Statement
The scope of the CCCJ’s Quality Management System includes promotion, supervision and advancement of the work of Community Colleges through provision and development of quality curricula, examinations and assessment, certification and awards for global enhancement of students, both locally and regionally. The scope also encompasses professional development for CCCJ customers and internal stakeholders as well as engagement of relevant external stakeholders.
The Quality Management System is applicable to all functions of the organisation. Clause 7.1.5.2 has been excluded, however, as the organisation does not need to calibrate or verify (any) measuring equipment.
